Ripple’s fine in SEC case shouldn’t be reduced, says judge

The same judge who granted Ripple a massive victory over the SEC has just denied a request to reduce its fine by tens of millions of dollars.

The SEC has dismissed and paused ongoing lawsuits and concluded a variety of investigations into the crypto industry.

Ripple claims its reports have not had the intended effect and that they were used against the company by former SEC leadership.

Ripple’s $4.9M donation was the second largest overall after the $5 million handed over by poultry producer Pilgrim’s Pride.
