Bridge hacks back in vogue as Verus exploit brings 2026 total to $329M

Recent years have seen bridge exploits mostly replaced by a focus on complex social engineering and supply-chain compromises.

THORChain exploited for $10M, crypto analyst claims

Crypto sleuth ZachXBT first spotted the “likely” $10M THORChain exploit and crypto security analysts later confirmed the incident.

Tuesday saw four separate hacks, with over $5M stolen. Two more incidents took place the day before, but with minimal losses.

Arbitrum rescued $71 million held by the Kelp DAO hacker last month. Gerstein Harrow wants to claim the sum for its clients.

The suit, which calls the hack “sophisticated,” is suing Coinbase on numerous counts, including unjust enrichment, and is seeking restitution.
