Judge says token holders could be liable for DAO hacks

A California judge has ruled that DAO token holders may be liable for the actions of the DAO as part of a general partnership.

Ryan Breslow reportedly gave his $16 million DAO to a convicted fraudster, and his cryptocurrency yield company misrepresented its partners.

The CFTC wants a judge to rule in its favor after Ooki DAO failed to respond to a lawsuit alleging that it broke federal commodities laws.

The CFTC says Ooki DAO offered illegal commodity transactions and engaged in activities that require it to register with the regulator.
