The founder of Bitcoin Ordinals and their NFT-like Inscriptions is launching a fungible token standard and BRC-20 competitor called Runes.

Bitcoiners suspect that large custodians might be sifting through their clients’ bitcoin deposits for rare satoshis.

Ordinals creator Casey Rodarmor swore, “the ordinals project commits to immutability of inscription numbers.” Now, he wants to renumber them.
